Objectives

  1. In this course, students will learn about the components of management information systems and how to leverage them in business (in education).
  2. Students understand the strategic role of information systems and information technology in organizations.
  3. Students learn various types of information systems at various levels of organizations.
  4. Overall, this course aims to teach students how to use and manage information systems to revitalize business processes (in education), improve business decision-making, and gain a competitive advantage.

 

Forms of Teaching

  1. Student-Centered Learning (SCL). SCL focuses on the students learning and what students do to achieve this, rather than what the lecturer does.
  2. Guide students to be active in learning activities.
  3. Discuss recent scientific articles regarding the topic.
  4. Give frequent assignments, quizzes, and mini-research projects to evaluate students understanding of what has been presented in class and use that knowledge to understand more complex theories and applications better.

Forms of Evaluation

  1. There will be a take midterm (30%) and final exam i.e., mini project (40%)
  2. Assignments (20%), quizzes and to evaluating students understanding against what have been presented in class (10%).
