Objectives

  1. Academic Writing focuses on the academic skills and basic elements of academic writing.
  2. To increase student’s agency as writers by acquiring both the theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary to produce texts for the Islamic Family Law academic discourses.
  3. Engage with readings critically by evaluating the various contexts (Islamic Family Law) surrounding and underpinning each text.
  4. Students will be able to practice critical reading and writing through summarizing, analyzing, evaluating, synthesizing ideas, and publishing an article.

 

Forms of Teaching

  1. Student-Centered Learning (SCL). SCL is focusing on the students learning and what students do to achieve this, rather than what the lecturer does.
  2. Guide students to be active in learning activities.
  3. Discuss recent scientific articles regarding the topic.
  4. Give frequent assignments, quizzes, and mini-research projects to evaluate students understanding of what has been presented in class and use that knowledge to understand more complex theories and applications better.

  11. Abstract and Title
  12. Language and Scientific Style
  13. Plagiarism and Research Ethics
  14. Discussing a Reputable International Paper – Topic 1
  15. Discussing a Reputable International Paper – Topic 2
  16. Final exam

 

Forms of Evaluation

  1. There will be a take midterm (30%) and final exam i.e., a publication project (40%)
  2. Assignments (20%), quizzes and to evaluating students understanding against what has been presented in class (10%).
